Drama at Allstars Academy

What we have to offer.

At Allstars Academy we are really privileged to be able to offer Drama in a variety of ways. Through Drama only classes, as part of Musical Theatre, our very own successful Theatre Company and LAMDA tuition.

Whatever your preference we have an option for it.

In our department we have a wealth of experienced teachers who have had the best Conservatoire Actor training, teacher training as well as professional experience within the industry. This means we are able to offer a vocational standard and style of tuition for our Company/ Wicked and Advanced students, as well as bringing all the fun and excitement that you find in a Drama class for our students who want to experience Drama for fun.

Our syllabus is all encompassing playing with drama games, improvisation, devising, theatrical techniques, vocal training, actor movement training, text work, plays, scripts, screen plays, camera work, monologues, duos. Working towards shows, exams, festivals, auditions, professional engagements all whilst building friendships in a fun and stimulating environment. We believe in ensemble and team work and our students really feel the benefit of this supportive and nurturing environment and most of all get to have fun with their friends each week. If you would like any more information on how we can best support your child's development in Drama please contact Miss Holly Head of Theatre or follow the link on our Free Trial page.

The Allstars Drama department has a 100% pass rate - 75% distinctions.

We are really proud of how hard our students work towards these qualifications. Students can begin LAMDA training as soon as they begin training with us at Allstars. Our youngest exam entrants enter with the 'Introductory steps' at four years olds, going all the way through to the Grade 8 exams that give our students UCAS points for University entry, this being a Level 3 Ofqual qualification (A'level equivalent)

LAMDA preparation is taught as part of the Wicked and Superstar Drama classes, with top up one to one tuition for those who wish to take the formal examination.

You can also study LAMDA syllabus on a one to one basis with one of our exam experienced teachers without being part of a class or in addition to.

We offer exams in Acting, Verse and Prose, Public Speaking and Musical Theatre. These exams can be taken as a solo or a duo.

Allstars Theatre Company

(National Theatre Connections)

The Allstars Theatre Company is made up of students from across the school as well as external students who audition to be a part of this exciting project. Criteria for audition is being aged 13-19 and to be fully committed to the full run of the project. Auditions take the form of a single monologue and workshop.

We take plays from workshop to performance and beyond, we go through the process continually working as a professional Theatre Company at all times. As part of the company students also get to take part in professional workshops in subjects such as Direction, Stage Combat, Costume Design, Advanced Vocal Technique, Clowning, Improvisation and we were privileged to have @The Shed come into rehearsals for a personalised Meisner Technique and Screen Acting Workshop at the end of our Flesh project.

As well as Actors, we need a full backstage team, props, costume, stage management etc… So if you don’t want to be front and centre but do want to be a part of this fabulous project to experience how a Theatre Company works there will definitely be a role within the company for you.

The Allstars Theatre Company Actors meet once a week to rehearse and the backstage team will meet once a month.
